Environment

For our children we want to leave the world in better shape than we found it.

For our part at EnProve we believe that farmers who adopt nutrient management programs will be more profitable, produce higher quality product and reduce environmental impacts. These programs will lead to better soil health, improved long term farm sustainability and reduced risk to waterways.

Managing nutrients is important for environment at two levels. The first is the off-farm impacts and the second is the on-farm impacts. Off farm impacts often have poorly enforced regulatory implications but the on farm impacts are less well understood. Poor soil health can lead to complications for production, erosion, salinity, animal health, product deterioration and even human health. Better on-farm management better reduces off-farm impacts.

Common environmental impacts:

  • Nutrient levels (phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium)
  • Effluent management
  • Water quality
  • Salinity
  • Soil Health
  • Soil Acidity
  • Fertiliser Management

The only effective method is to engage in long term monitoring and measuring programs.
